Information session Thursday on fracking project

CLEAR FORK VALLEY — A session designed to give land owners information about a project of the Cabot Oil and Gas Corporation is set for Thursday, from 5:30 to 6 p.m. at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library.

A multi-county land owners coalition has been formed in response to this project, in which Cabot will attempt to lease land and do horizontal drilling, using hydraulic fracturing to explore for oil and gas.

The organizer of the session, Bill Baker, said this type of extraction can have large impacts on land and landowners.

Baker said there will be information packets available for those attending and there will be a question and answer period following the presentation.

Baker asks that people RSVP to him at
