Keeping watch over the Clear Fork Valley

BELLVILLE — This bald eagle was keeping watch over the Clear Fork Valley on Monday as snow showers covered the ground during a snow shower. The eagle was photographed by Clear Fork’s Jeff Hoffer. Last year’s midwinter flight surveys counted 133 immature eagles and 120 adult eagles, for a total of 253 bald eagles in the state. Although many eagle nests are found in the western Lake Erie marsh region, breeding eagles can now be found throughout Ohio, including in Richland County.
