CLEAR FORK VALLEY — A maple tree will be planted in the memory of Ginnie Baker at the bench near the Main Street blue bridge in Bellville Nov. 9 at 10 a.m.
Baker was active in the Richland Soil Water Conservation District, and is a former editor at the Bellville Star.
Baker was one of the original rain gauge volunteers and was active with the Safety Patrol and Adopt a Family. She also worked with the Special Olympics and Torch Run, which went through Bellville.
Baker, a native of Lexington, passed away in October 2017. Her partner John Workman was also active in similar activities.
She was recognized at a celebration at the Richland Soil Water Conservation District Nov. 2.
