CLEAR FORK VALLEY — A much awaited “soft opening” for a new Dunkin Donuts store happened Thursday outside Bellville.

The store, on State Route 97 near the I-71 interchange, had its first customers shortly after 5 a.m. The Dunkin Donuts is located in an expanded Mickey Mart. The Dunkin Donuts store is on the front side of the building.

Carolyn Dalton, manager, said people arrived starting at the opening time, and more trickled in. Some of the first customers for the day were Bellville mayor Teri Brenkus and village administrator Larry Weirich.

A staff of eight was there to wait on customers. The products available were donuts, of course, plus bagels and other baked goods, plus numbers of drink items.

The store hours will be 5 a.m until 10 p.m. The Dunkin donuts will have 20 employees, Dalton said.

Construction at the Dunkin Donuts store has been going on over several months.

It is only one of several large projects that are being undertaken in the area.

The Love’s Real Estate facility just opened.

Across the road from Love’s the Avita health care facility building is starting to take shape.

It’s possible now to see the shape of the entrance to the Avita building, which is angled toward State Route 97.

The Avita building will have offices for doctors plus related health care spaces.

Dalton, of Dunkin Donuts, said she has worked for Dunkin Donuts at a variety of locations. She was at stores in Norwalk, Vermilion, Sandusky and Tiffin.
