BELLVILLE — The painted window at Griffon Jewelers won the competition in the 2017 holiday window painting contest.
The window shows an angel, snowmen and a manger scene with “Good news of Great Joy.”
The second place winner was Brumby”s Pizza and Coffee. Third place went to Hair Motions.
The Griffon window was painted by Leslie Chaffin.
Leah Argenio and Zoe McCue did the Brumby’s window, and Dana Miller and Toree Lehnhart painted Hair Motions.
Other windows placing were Subway, Hursh Drug, V & M Restaurant, Weekley’s, Stoodt’s Market, Smith Hardware, Pamer Associates, U.S. Bank, and the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center (BNOC).
Bellville mayor Teri Brenkus said 32 stores entered and paintings were done by 40 or more volunteers.
Artists need to contact Brenkus to pick up their prize money.
Brenkus said people from many places in Ohio plus out of staters from Pennsylvania, California and Wisconsin saw the windows.
The other artists/volunteers who made contributions to the project were Emily Saxton, Kitty Black, Gavin Boehm, Courtney Weekley, Tracy Huffman, Erica Russell, Marissa Carpenter, Ron Rehm, and Brandy Weymeller.
