Liberty Day Festival will be held on July 4.
The event will begin with a parade, starting at the American Legion at 11 a.m.
It will march south on Main Street to Stoodt’s Market, turn west on Bell Street, east on Church Street finishing at Bellville’s Bandstand.
Those wishing to participate and are not already signed up should contact James Smith at 567-303-8572 or fill out a form at Bellville Village Hall. Participants should meet at the corner of Bell and Ogle Street at 10 a.m. to check in with Liberty Day Staff upstairs at the American Legion. Those wishing to witness the parade should line Main Street, Bell Street or Church Street before the 11 a.m. start.
A short ceremony will take place at the Bellville Bandstand following the parade. Master of Ceremonies Paul Brown will conduct the festivities starting with the Clear Fork Band’s redentition of the Star Spangled Banner.
Then the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by the Sons of the American Legion State Commander Dave Brown, who will also address those gathered at the Bandstand.
Bellville Mayor Darrell Banks will discuss the 200th anniversary of Robert Bell laying out the village’s streets.
The Grand Marshall for 2015 will be Joe Butterbaugh a long time active member of the American Legion Post 535, who has contributed much to the community.
American Legion Hiskey Post 535 will honor our departed veterans with a firing squad salute and taps.
Trophies will be presented for the best parade participants in five different categories: Best Color Guard, Best Marching Group, Best Antique Vehicle, Best Club or Organization, Grand Marshall Award and Mayors Choice.
The Bellville Lions Club will have a food trailer in the park immediately following the Liberty Program at the Bandstand.
