Bellville Police calls for October

Oct. 10

A Bellville officer on routine patrol stopped a car on Alexander Road. The driver was uncooperative with the officer’s requests. Dispatch advised the officer that the driver was under an FRA suspension and that the plates were to be seized. The officer advised dispatch that the driver had locked himself in the vehicle. After calling for back up the subject continued to refuse to get out of the vehicle and was removed. He was issued summons for obstructing official business, paraphernalia, resisting arrest and a citation for driving under FRA suspension.

Oct. 11

An officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from a drive of a stopped car on Main Street. He performed field sobriety tests that the driver failed. The officer administered a breath test that returned .110. The driver was issued a citation for OVI and failure to transfer.

A Bellville officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop on State Route 97. The officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver. She was issued a citation for OVI and marked lanes after failing field sobriety tests.

Oct. 13

Bellville Police were contacted regarding an accident on School Alley. One of the drivers left the scene and went to work. He was later located and issued a citation for improper backing and no operator’s license.

Oct. 14

Officers went to a local residence regarding an unruly juvenile. A summons for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was issued to the juvenile.

Oct. 18

A Bellville officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop. The officer detected the odor of burned marijuana. After running the driver’s information police learned he had two suspensions. The driver was advised to call for a ride and was issued a citation for driving under suspension, failure to display in darkness and a written warning for seat belt.

Oct. 23

Police approached two individuals in Palm Park. After questioning, the officer located several items including a spoon with suspected heroin in liquid form. Both subjects were cuffed and detained. They admitted they were about to use heroin. They were arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments. No further information.

Oct. 24

A Bellville officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop. After detecting the odor of alcohol, the officer conducted field sobriety tests that the subject failed. The driver was placed under arrest for OVI, and the vehicle was towed. The subject was taken to the Ohio State Patrol for a blood alcohol test that returned a .085 . The subject was issued a citation for OVI and released to a sober party.

A driver was issued a citation for tail lights required and driving under suspension. The vehicle owner took possession.

Oct. 25

A Bellville officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop. The officer detected the odor an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle. He also observed an open case of beer in the rear of the vehicle. The officer performed field sobriety tests on the driver which the driver failed. The passenger was visibly intoxicated. The driver was issued a citation for OVI and left of center after returning a .124 BAC. Both were released to a sober party.
