Holiday Happiness set to begin at Butler Clear Fork Adult Center

Staff report

Christmas is a time for sharing, a time of peace and joy. It’s Christmas presents for the children wrapped and bowed beneath the Christmas tree to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is the giving spirit in our town and country.

The 17th Annual Holiday Happiness project for the Butler area is underway. The Holiday Happiness committee is joining together with area churches, Butler Lion and Lioness clubs, businesses, individuals, Clear Fork sport teams and the Butler Elementary students to help provide families in need with gifts for their children.

We will be helping parents under financial difficulty give their children gifts on Christmas morning.

The donated gifts and food will help families with financial difficulties celebrate Christmas in their homes.

If you feel that we can help you this year, please fill out a Holiday Happiness application (available at the Center or by calling 419-883-3305) and return it by Wednesday, Nov. 25 to the Butler Clear Fork Adult Center located at 20 Henry Street in Butler.

Due to the large number of applications that the committee receives, they will only be furnishing families with gifts for children, ages birth through 18.

Each family will also receive a food basket and a ham to complete a holiday meal. Families in the program will receive a letter early in December confirming the pickup of Christmas items. Items will be distributed on Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 1-4 p.m. at the Butler Clear Fork Adult Center.
