Safe Communities Program releases Richland County Traffic Fatalities Update

The Richland County Safe Communities Coalition reports that for the month of March there were two traffic deaths in Richland County.

There have been two traffic-related fatalities through the first three months.

According to the Federal Highway Administration’s comprehensive costs for traffic fatalities*, each fatality has a comprehensive cost of $1.4 million associated with it. The two fatalities cost Richland County $2.8 million.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and the Richland County Safe Communities Coalition and Richland Public Health are reminding people that driving is a full-time task that requires all of your attention.
