April showers bring May flowers. They also bring rising water levels along the Clear Fork River.

Following rain over the weekend, the river peaked around five feet according to the United States Geological Society’s gauge in Bellville.

The National Weather Service is calling for more rain during the latter half of the week and into the weekend for the area.

The Clear Fork is not likely to flood in the near future, but with increased percipitation the seasonal flooding concern persists.
