Clear Fork softball team starts season with a 14-0 win


WOOSTER — Clear Fork opened the 2017 softball season with a five inning, 14-0 shutout of Triway High School.

The Lady Colts scored five runs in the second inning, a run each in the third and a run in the fourth inning.

They put the game away by adding seven runs in the fifth.

The Lady Titan’s only managed five hits against Clear Fork pitcher, Darian Gottfried.

Gottfried allowed only two walks in the complete-game win.

Gottfried helped her own cause at the plate. The senior had two hits, including a doublem and four RBI.

In addition to Gottfried, Zara Thomas, Macy Wade and Whitney Snavely had two hits apiece.
