Colts knock off Tygers twice in HS softball


MANSFIELD — Clear Fork knocked off Mansfield Senior twice Tuesday night in high school softball action.

The Lady Colts won the first game of a double header 10-1, and the second by a 14-1 tally.

In Game 1, Macy Wade collected two hits — a double and a home run — and had three RBIs. Haylie Thomas and Zara Thomas also had two hits, including a homer by Thomas.

After a scoreless first inning, Clear Fork scored in each of the next five innings en route to the easy win.

Darian Gottfried picked up the pitching win. In six innings, she gave up just one hit and struck out 14.

The Colts were even more potent on offense in Game 2.

They scattered 13 hits in the five-inning affair, including another home run by Wade and a double by Miller. Wade had three RBIs, Miller and Carson Crowner had two apiece.

McKenzie Baker was the winner on the mound, going all five innings for Clear Fork. She struck out seven and gave up just two hits.
