BELLVILLE — The sidewalk on Main Street had a cheery sign Thursday — that marked the eighth birthday of Abbygail Zach.
This day young Abbygail was able to get herself spruced up at the Beauty Bar by RuLen salon, then go outside to show admirers how she looked with a new hairdo and polished nails.
It turns out Abbygail shares a birthday weekend with her brother, Jacob, who will be nine Sunday. The celebration for her brother hasn’t been determined yet, mother Melissa Zach said. But he will be taken care of.
Abbygail was in a pretty pink dress, her hair done up on her head with fancy braids holding it in place. Her nails, a combination of blue and silver.
Abbygail wore a ring and a choker, gifts from her father. She said she also got a “Hatchimal,” a bird in an egg which can also talk and walk and dance.
She will be in third grade at the Bellville Elementary School this fall.
Abbygail said she had no idea she would be so honored when she went out with her mother. She was told it would be a “girls only” day.
As far as school goes, she’s not that excited, she said.
Last year she and some of her friends were a “little bit loud” at lunch and they were made to miss recess. She said they were told they “couldn’t say one word.”
She has sort of counted the days to school. On her birthday day, she knew it would be only one week to go.
