Madison slugger Cal Rickert golfed a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to hand Clear Fork a heart-breaking 4-2 loss in nine innings.

“It was a great ball game,” Clear Fork coach Rusty Staab said. “We just made mistakes. The kids are learning and this will play dividends for us at the end of the year,”

Caleb Merendino and Shane Klenk each had two hits for the Colts.

“It was a really good win for us,” Madison coach Doug Rickert said. “Our pitching was fantastic. We have a lot of fighters on our team.”

Doug Rickert said the Colts are a good team.

“They swing good, are well-coached and throw well,” he said. “They will be a factor in this league,”

Clear Fork falls to 4-3 and 2-2 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference, while Madison improved to 3-3 and 2-0 in the OCC.
