Colts advance to state’s Elite Eight with 2-0 win over Ottawa-Glandorf

ELIDA – Clear Fork beat Ottawa-Glandorf on Thursday 2-0 to advance to today’s regional championship vs. Eastwood at 5 p.m.

The game is at Elida Middle School. Pemberville Eastwood beat Archbold 5-4 in Thursday’s other semifinal.

Clear Fork is 17-12 this season. Eastwood is 21-5.

Mutch Dulin picked up another pitching win for the Colts, allowing just two singles in the shutout.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning.

But the Colts broke the stalemate when Thomas Staab scored on Jared Lind’s RBI double.

Clear Fork added an insurance run in the next inning. Gage Belcher tried to steal third base and scored on an Eastwood error.

The Colts pitching staff has given up just three runs in four tournament games this season. They beat Clear Fork 3-0; Edison 10-1; and Margaretta 9-2.
