RadioU on its way to Richland County

A progressive ad-free, listener supported Christian music station based out of Columbus is on its way to the north central Ohio area.

RadioU General Manager Michael Buckingham confirmed that the “FM translator” station will air the Columbus station through the Mansfield area and will be heard in the Bellville area.

Without ads, the station relies solely on listener donations and just completed an #AMPLIFYradiou fund-raising drive to bring the station to 92.5 FM in Mansfield.

“The crowdfunding approach was a bit of an experiment for us, and it was encouraging to see the support and comments from donors to the project, while raising awareness about the new station,” Buckingham said in an email about a week ago. “We’re still working through a couple of things which could affect the timeline, but we’re hopeful for an installation within about four to five weeks.”
