Spring clean-up projects planned in Bellville, starting April 15

BELLVILLE — Several projects to help clean up the village are in the works, Mayor Teri Brenkus said last week.

There will be a community trail clean-up April 15, starting at 8 a.m. This will be so the trail in Palm Park can be cleaned up, and better access made available to the Boy Scout cabin.

Brenkus said many people don’t know the trail is there, and the area needs to be cleaned and old wood taken out. The Boy Scouts will get access to the wood, but other area residents can also come and participate in the clean up and get wood.

An arborist is going to come and help reclaim the trail behind the Boy Scout cabin, Brenkus said.

The area has been so neglected that “a lot of people don’t know it is there,” she said.

The Spring Clean-up Dumpster Days will be May 6.

This is an event only for Clear Fork valley residents.

The village will accept no tires or paint.

Brenkus said people should know they can take old tires to the Richland County Solid Waste in Mansfield for a small fee.

In years past many people have used this event to try to rid themselves of many old tires, and that has cause problems for people organizing the event.

People can look up information about the fee for taking tires on the Richland County Solid Waste department web site.

The village is partnering with Jefferson Township trustees on the clean-up project, Brenkus said.
