Update: More information on George Bowers’ photo from Jan. 21


This is a photograph from Bellville’s past. This particular photo has stirred allot of memories. Originally posted January 25th. It is a photo of George Bowers, a School bus driver and at one time George’s father owned the school bus system. Originally identified by Ronald Emery.

Recently, Paul (Shorty) Livingston revealed more memorable information. George (Junior) Bowers’ father owned a Ford dealership in Bellville. George’s father also sponsored a local adult softball team. It was said that the team did really well for a bunch of farm boys. The names of the members of the team, are names most of Bellville have heard before. Here are some of the team members, all local boys: Frederick Livingston, William (Mouse) Livingston, Louis Livingston, Max Killgore, Jack Killgore, Bob Myers, Bun Baxler, George McFern, Gerald Soliday and John Spayde. George’s brother, Bob Bowers, managed the team.
