Bellville looking at annexation of 40 acres near Ohio 97/I-71

CLEAR FORK VALLEY — The village of Bellville is considering annexing another portion of land close to I-71 and State Route 97.

Village officials have met with people in Washington Township, where the parcel is located. It sits just off State Route 97 on the south, just before the intersection with I-71.

The parcel is about 40 acres, said village administrator Larry Weirich.

The Washington Township trustees must first consider the annexation. Then the process would have to continue through the Richland County commissioners, said Weirich.

The process takes an undetermined amount of time, according to Weirich. This annexation would add another chunk of land to the area which has already undergone considerable expansion. Avita health care is building a new office building, and Love’s has opened its facility, where people can get gasoline and goods. Plus large trucks can get service.
