New market opening next month in Lexington has a Bellville connection

CLEAR FORK VALLEY — The storefront that was formerly occupied by a Geyer’s market in Lexington will become “Main Street Market,” operated by Jason Potes.

Potes has been operating the Stoodt’s Market in Bellville. That market recently upgraded on a number of fronts, including putting in beer and wine sales.

JACS Fresh Foods LLC (dba Stoodt’s Market) announced it has come to terms with the owner of 280 East Main Street in Lexington. The site is owned by JACS Fresh Foods LLC (dba Stoodt’s Market). The Lexington site is owned by Dental Laboratory Specialists, Inc.

The store has an anticipated opening date of some time in May.

The Geyer’s market closed several months ago.

Offerings at the new store will include produce, deli/bakery, meat, grocery, frozen, dairy, drug and general merchandise, natural and organic foods, floral, beer and wine, and will provide services such as lottery, gift cards, fax and money services, catering, online shopping/ordering, grocery shipping, and grocery delivery to a 20-mile radius

“We are beyond excited to be able to bring a full-service grocery store back to the fine citizens of Lexington and surrounding areas,” said Potes.

“We are committed to providing a shopping experience that exceeds their expectations. We appreciate everyone that has been sharing in our excitement while our planning and negotiation process has come to fruition,” said Potes.

“We especially want to thank the Webster family for their efforts in bringing a grocery store back to Lexington; this would not be possible without their energy and effort focused towards the project. We are looking forward to getting open soon pending final government approvals. Finally, we are thrilled that Lexington shoppers will again have an avenue to keep their hard-earned dollars in their local economy. We cannot wait to see you and serve you!”
