BELLVILLE — Some village activities are taking a back seat because of delays caused by recent rainy weather.
The dedication of Gorman-Rupp Way, outside the village, is set for June 26 at noon in front of village hall.
The Gorman-Rupp Way name has been given to a street in the development corridor at the intersection of I-71 and State Route 97.
The fountain in front of village hall also will be dedicated. A plaque with placed there in honor of the Gorman family, which has donated pieces of land to the village. It also made donations for the new fountain.
A rain date has been set for June 28 for both dedications.
The placement of a giant flag at Love’s outside the village also has been delayed. It had been thought it could be placed Friday, June 15.
Now, the pole may be welded on that date.
Dedication of that flag has been set for July 2 at noon. This is also a weather permitting event.
The 179th Honor Guard and the American Legion Color Guard will assist in raising of the flag.
