Bellville police find drugs, stolen items


BELLVILLE — Bellville police found a significant amount of drugs and stolen power equipment after the stop by an officer responding to a suspicious activity call in the area of Main Street on Wednesday.

Upon making contact with the suspicious vehicle and an occupant of the vehicle, Officer Greg Tackett learned that the female subject had a warrant for her arrest. Due to the circumstances, the Officers searched the vehicle and located a significant amount of drugs and stolen power equipment. All items were recovered at the scene and taken into evidence on this case.

The female subject was arrested on her warrant and charged with receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, possession of drugs schedule I or II substance, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container in a motor vehicle. She was transported to the Richland County Jail with additional charges pending.

This case is currently under investigation with a warrant for the driver of the vehicle.
