NC State receives additional Choose Ohio First Scholarship funds

MANSFIELD — The Ohio Department of Higher Education has again awarded Choose Ohio First Scholarship Funds to North Central State College, in the amount of $396,785.25.

These funds will provide scholarships for students enrolling in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) coursework for the 2019-2020 school year.

At NC State, students in seven areas of study are eligible to receive grant dollars: Bioscience, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Visual Communications Multimedia Technology, Nursing and Associate of Science degrees for computer science and mathematics. Students in all of these programs will be encouraged to apply.

“In a nutshell … a student attending full time could receive up to $1,500 each semester which is a big scholarship, said Academic Dean Greg Timberlake. “These dollars will help a lot of students here at the college.”

To be eligible to receive an award for the fall semester, students must complete the college application process by July 1, 2019. Every student applying for the majors listed above will be considered for these new scholarships.
