Betty Long Barton celebrates 100th birthday

The descendants of John O. And Bertha Etz Long met to celebrate the 100th birthday of their first daughter, Betty Long Barton, sister of Margery Stoodt, Bellville.

Betty was born while her father was serving in France during WWI, so she first met him at the age of 8 months.

Betty had celebrated 68 years of marriage to K. Clay Barton before his passing.

Their one son, Lowell Barton, is deceased but his descendants and their families arrived in Bellville to celebrate at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Betty extinguished the candle on her 3 tier cake as her visitors sang, traditionally wishing her continued happiness such as she felt that day with her family and friends from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio (Columbus, Cleveland, Ashland, Mansfield, Bellville), North Carolina, Washington D.C. , New York, and Georgia, plus those who could not attend and sent greetings from as far away as a great grandson and wife in Hawaii.
