The Bellville Lions Club had their annual steak fry on August 27 at Lion Ron Shinabarker’s “The Woods.”

The club has the steak fry each year to show appreciation to the members for all the work they do through out the year.

District 13-B Governor Carolyn Brook was the program for the evening. She talked about the programs that International President Dr. Yamada has asked all Lions to complete this year. President Yamada is asking all clubs to work with and to do a service project for children.

Governor Carolyn inducted new member Joe Gribben who is sponsored by Lion Bill Henderson. Lion Joe received the special centennial member pin and the sponsor also received a special centennial sponsor pin. The pins are to represent Lions International 100 Anniversary which is 2017.

President Bill honored Lion Nikk Traxler with the president’s appreciation award for all of her work with students. Lion Nikki has conducted the Good Program for the Clear Fork Middle School students and the Lions student of the month program. Nikki has been a member of the Bellville Lions for nine years. She has been involved with many Lions events such as working at the club’s food trailer where ever it may be and club service projects.
