Clear Fork vs. Madison

The Lady Colts snagged a hard fought 1-0 road win over Ohio Cardinal Conference foe Madison Comprehensive to stay undefeated in OCC play this season.

Despite kicking only two shots on goal for the game, Clear Fork was able to net the contest’s only score with a second half goal from freshman Kaylin Helinski.

The victory at Madison secured Clear Fork the number one seed in conference tournament play.

In OCC soccer the league champion is determined based on a point system. During the regular season teams play each other once. Teams get 1 point for each win and .5 points for ties. Following the regular season, teams are seeded for the post-season OCC tournament based on total points.

With the 6-0-0 conference record, Clear Fork earned 6 points, the number 1 seed and a 2 point lead over the next closest competitor, Madison. The tournament’s champion is also determined by a point system.

Clear Fork will play each of its tournament games at home, a privilege given to the number 1 seed in the tournament. The Colts are slated to take on Loudonville on Oct. 8 at 5 p.m.

Clear Fork vs. Norwalk

The Lady Colts continued their winning ways on Saturday knocking off Norwalk by a count of 2-1.

Scoring for Clear Fork were seniors Taylor Cook and Meshia Curry.

The road win moves the Colts to 10-2 on the season, as the team awaits their first round OCC tournament game against Loudonville.
