First Thurday took place in downtown Bellville on July 2 amid a heavier turnout, as businesses on Main Street extended their hours until 7 p.m.
The event concluded with a concert by the Jimmy Warner Band in the village square.
“We had a lot better turnout this time around,” said Clear Fork Valley Chamber of Commerce volunteer Juli Baker. “We moved the concert from out of the pavilion and onto the lawn, which everyone seemed to like a lot more.”
The performance was part of an ongoing five part summer concert series in the bandstand, three of which will follow the additional First Thurdays.
As for the next month’s event, Baker plans to include a food vendor in the village square.
The upcoming First Thursday is scheduled for Aug. 6 in the downtown Bellville. The event will conclude with AMF Jazz Band.
