Dr. Jerry Harnish has been putting his back and heart into his Bellville practice for the better part of three decades.
The hard work has paid off, and Dr. Harnish recently celebrated 30 years at his 110 Main Street location.
“This space became available for rent at the perfect time” said Harnish about his decision to move to Bellville. “Everything just fell into place and it seemed like God was telling me to come here. I couldn’t be happier being in this wonderful community all these years”.
Harnish was first introduced to Chiropractic Medicine as a varsity wrestler at Sycamore Mohawk High School in his native town of Tiffin, Ohio.
He became interested in the field after a wrestling injury caused him to seek Chiropractic treatment. From that point on he never looked back, obtaining his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College in June of 1985 after completing his undergraduate studies at Miami University (Ohio).
In addition to spinal adjustments, Dr. Harnish offers physical therapy, rehabilitation exercises, nutrition and weight loss counselling, as well as naturopathic and homeopathic alternatives to his patients.
“I have done extensive research into alternatives to traditional medicine,” he said. “Modern medicine unfortunately uses methods that mostly treat symptoms and not causes. That is what Chiropractic is all about, treating the cause (of a condition).”
Harnish specializes in numerous spinal adjustments and other treatment methods. Each individual patient’s treatment regimen is then tailored to meet their needs.
“I still believe the body has the ability to heal itself,” he said. “I have helped thousands of patients get better without the use of drugs and surgery. I had a patient come in the office that had gone to three different podiatrists over a three year period for his foot pain.”
“He even was put in a walking cast for a few months to try to treat it but he still had the pain and was contemplating surgery,” Harnish said. “He came to me and told me all this and I treated his back and his ankle and foot with adjustments and therapy and he was pain free in about six weeks. This is just one of the thousands of success stories I have experienced being a chiropractor.”
Along with treating customers in his office, Harnish has made numerous house calls for his disabled and home-bound patients. His work has established a long list of loyal clientele, some of which have been visiting his practice for decades.
“It’s really rewarding work,” said he said. “I get to see the impact I’ve made on my patients lives over the years. I really want to thank everyone in the Clear Fork Valley and Mid-Ohio community for putting their trust in me for 30 years. It’s really been rewarding.”
