Bellville Police Department activity


July 2

Bellville Police were contacted by a local resident regarding dead, mutilated animals being left on their Ogle Street property. NFI.

July 5

A driver on Main Street was stopped on routine patrol by an officer who conducted field sobriety tests. After failing, the individual was arrested and transported to the Ohio Highway Patrol where a breath test returned .116 Blood Alcohol Content. The individual was issued a citation for OVI and for a defective tail light.

A Bellville Officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop on State Route 97. The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and observed several empty beer cans. The driver failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of .104. The driver was issued a citation for OVI and marked lanes.

July 6

A driver on Main Street admitted he did not have a license after being stopped on routine patrol. An officer searched the vehicle and located a syringe with a clear liquid believed to be heroin. The driver was arrested and the syringe was sent for further testing. Pending the results of the testing, the charges will be submitted to the Richland County Prosecutor for Possession of Heroin. July 8

A Bellville Officer was dispatched to a local Durbin Avenue residence regarding a dispute and possible phone threats. NFI.

July 9

A Bellville Officer was dispatched to a local residence regarding a family dispute resulting in an assault on one subject.
