Bellville, Butler Elementary compete in speech meet

Staff report

On May 3, Bellville and Butler Elementary School combined to participate in the Lois Andrea Speech Meet, which was held in the high school auditorium.

All students in grades first through fifth learned a poem to recite and focused on speaking using appropriate rate, expression, poise, and eye contact. The three top performers and one alternate from each elementary performed their poems for a large audience of friends and family.

Overall winners are as follows: first grade Bryn Sansom, first place; Ava Roberts, second place; and Trey Sellers, third place.

Second grade: Mia Wilson, first place; Gavin Walker, second place; and Nevaeh Michael, third place.

Third grade: Christian Walker, first place; Regan Pore, second place; and Carter King, third place.

Fourth grade: Savanna Wolfgang, first place; Kaleigh Walker, second place; and Avary Wine, third place.

Fifth grade: Lyvia Davis, first place; Corbin Wynkoop, second place; and Hudson Moore, third place.

The Clear Fork Elementary staff would like to extend a special thank you to the family of Lois Andrea, sisters Mary Andrea and Sue Price, and brother-in-law Jeff Price for graciously volunteering their time to serve as our judges.
