The Butler Community Festival will take place downtown Aug. 7 and 8.
The event was organized by the Butler Area Merchants Association and will be complete with entertainment, food vendors, a merchant’s tent, kids rides and games.
Festivities begin Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. on Main Street and will proceed as follows:
The festival king and queen will be honored after Butler mayor Kevin Carr’s festival opening program.
From 3-4 p.m., Mark Hemmelgarn will perform his magic, comedy, juggling and ventriloquism act.
Sara Walker and DJ’s unlimited will be sponsoring a Karaoke contest begginning at 5 p.m. in Memorial Park.
Adria Thompson of Key Realty has sponsored Jessica Hannan, EKG and the Jimmy Warner Band. They will perform on the Main Street Stage during the event.
A 5K Walk/Run, sponsored by Mid-Ohio Tubing, will be take place beginning at 9 a.m.
The festival parade begins at noon downtown.

The North Liberty Garden Club will host a flower display Aug. 7-8 in the Butler Clear Fork Adult Center.
The display hours are as follow: Aug. 7, 4-8 p.m. and Aug. 8, 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
There will be five flower categories on display and the public will chose the “best of show”.
The Butler Clear Fork Adult Center is also looking for homemade, handcrafted quilts to display during the Butler Community Fest.
If you are interested in displaying your fine work, please contact Dorothy Michalovich at 419-883-3305 to sign up. Quilts can be dropped off at the Adult Center on Aug. 5-6. All items will be kept safe by center personnel during the Fest. Additional information will be available at the center.
