Community supper at Bellville First Baptist
The Bellville First Baptist Church is having a community supper Oct. 26. This is a free supper for anyone in need of a meal and communicating with others.
Strawn speaker at All Souls
The Rev. Elaine Strawn will be speaker Sunday at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, speaking at 10:30 a.m.
Her topic will be “That Darned First Principle.”
The questions involved are “Are we really welcoming to everyone? What about the needs of the congregation as a whole? Where do the lines and the compromises lie?”
Strawn was born in Ohio and lived in the eastern part of the state as a Methodist minister’s daughter. She graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. and served two Methodist churches in Cleveland. Her current church is the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wayne County. She is currently working on her doctorate at the University of Chicago.
