Bellville Police Activity


July 23

A Bellville officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop on Main Street. Both the driver and passenger had suspended licenses. During a vehicle search, a suspected marijuana roach was found and an empty beer can. The driver was issued a citation for driving under suspension.

July 24

A driver who was stopped on State Route 97 was under suspension for a previous OVI. He was issued a citation for OVI after failing field sobriety tests. He was also issued a citation for driving under suspension and a summons for an open container in a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Richland County Jail.

July 25

A Bellville officer on routine patrol conducted a car stop on Bellville North Road. The officer conducted a series of field sobriety tests, which the driver failed. He was transported to the Ohio State Patrol for a breath test that returned .159 Blood Alcohol Content. The driver was issued a citation for OVI and white light on the rear tail light and a summons for open container. He was released to a relative.

July 26

A motorcycle driver was stopped on State Route 97 and failed field sobriety. He was placed in cuffs, arrested and given a citation for OVI. The motorcycle was towed.

July 27

A Bellville officer was contacted regarding filing a report of harassment at the complainant’s place of work.

Police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn regarding a domestic violence incident. The victim was questioned and photos taken and placed in evidence. No further information is available.

July 28

A Bellville officer made contact with a subject with a warrant from Lexington. He was transported to Lexington Police Department.

July 29

An Ogle Street resident called police regarding a theft in their shed. No further information is available.
