July is a time for picnics and relaxing fun.

The Bellville Lion’s Club enjoyed their annual family member’s picnic at Palm Park this month. Making a special appearance for the children this year was Beauty, a fifteen year-old pony. Beauty happily gave out rides and posed for pictures with all the children. The pony rides were led by Karen Matthews of Clear Fork.

Calling all golfers! On August 15 the Bellville Club is hosting the District-wide golf scramble at Oak Tree course in Mansfield. The scramble is open to teams of both club and non-club members. The cost is $50 per player with a chance to win a Chrysler 200 with a hole-in-one. Call Dean Thomas at: (419) 886-0059 for more information and to register.

Lion’s clubs raise money to assist people with vision and other health needs. Lion’s agencies are conducting extensive research to fight blindness. It’s great to be a Lion where you can have fun and make a meaningful difference in the community.
