BELLVILLE — This year’s Liberty Day Festival for the village will be on July 4, Mayor Teri L. Brenkus said Wednesday.
The Bellville Lions Club will have their food trailer set up in the park behind the Bandstand.
The Festival will begin with a parade, starting at the American Legion at 11:00 a.m. marching south on Main Street to the alley beyond First Knox Bank. It will then turn west and then north on Bell Street, east on Church St. to Bellville Bandstand. Those wishing to participate and are not already signed up should contact Craig Smith at 419-631-3743 or fill out a form at Bellville Village Hall.
Participants should meet at the corner of Bell and Ogle Street at 10:00 a.m. and check in with Liberty Day Staff upstairs at the American Legion. Those wishing to witness the parade should line Main Street, Bell Street or Church Street before the 11 a.m. step off.
A short ceremony celebrating our liberty will take place at the Bellville Bandstand following the parade. Master of Ceremonies Charles Kvochick will conduct the ceremony starting with the Clear Fork Band playing the National Anthem. We will be lead in the Pledge of Allegiance by the State First Vice Commander of American Legion Auxiliary, Kathy Heichel. Evan Mahlman, Detachment Commander will be our guest speaker. Brenkus will welcome people to the festival.
