Lady Colts pick up first soccer win of 2017

BELLVILLE — Clear Fork’s Lady Colts evened their record to 1-1-0 on the young season with a 7-0 win over Wooster in their 2017 home opener.

Clear Fork jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the break and never was seriously challenged in picking up the shut out.

Clear Fork’s Kaylin Helinski had three goals to lead her squad to its first victory, while Bianca Hoffer, MacKenzie Klenk, Whitney Snavely and Macy Wade added one goal each.

Also, Snavely had two assists off two corners kicks, and Lauren Callen, MacKenzie Snyder and Macy Wade assisted on one goal each.

Clear Fork plays at home again on Thursday, Aug. 24, versus Cloverleaf High School.

MADISON TOWNSHIP — Clear Fork traveled to Madison last Friday for it’s 2017 season opener.

Unfortunately, the Lady Colts started out the season on the wrong side of the scoreboard, falling 4-2 to the Lady Rams.

The Rams led 2-1 and the intermission and outscored Clear Fork by the same margin in the second half en route to their victory.

Morgan Galco got the first Clear Fork goal of the season on an assist from Bianca Hoffer. In the second half,Lauren Callen scored the second goal of the season a nifty pass from Carly McCue.

Madison was led by freshmen Taylor Huff, who scored all four goals for the Lady Rams.
