Clear Fork third at Colt Classic

Host Clear Fork placed third at its own tournament on Thursday. Led by Dakotah McClain’s round of 75, the Colts recorded a team total of 331 in the Colt Classic at Deer Ridge Golf Club.

Clear Fork and Wooster tied with scores of 331, but the Generals were awarded second place after their fifth golfer posted a better scored than the Colts’ fifth player.

Clear Fork’s Luke Watson finished with an 84. Devon Shortridge shot 85 and Jake Helinski carded an 86. Jared Lind shot 91 and Taylor Johnson shot 101.

Lexington took top honors in the team and individual standings at Deer Ridge. Kaleb Smith was the tournament medalist after shooting a round 69. Teammate Spencer Stierhoff was the runner-up with a round of 71. The Minutemen won the tournament with a team score of 298.

The Colts are scheduled to play in the Westbrook Invitational, hosted by Lexington, on Monday. Start time is 1 p.m.

Clear Fork will play in the Hillsdale Invitational at Mohican Hills on Aug. 14. Start time is 9 a.m.
