LEXINGTON — The boys tennis teams from Clear Fork and Galion high schools headed to Lexington last week in an effort to beat the weather. They got in their match indoors at Lakewood Racquet Club in a Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference showdown. Clear Fork won 4-1.
Picking up the only point for the Tigers Thursday was the first doubles team of Weston Rose and Alec Dicus, who beat Isaac Bailey and Brayden Seeman in a marathon match. Galion would drop the first set; 6-7 (tiebreakerer, 4-7), but rallied back in the second set to win; 7-6 (tiebreaker, 7-2). In the third, the Tigers; duo won 10-4.
First singles player Tyler Harris was defeated by Clear Fork’s Noah Brown 0-6, 3-6. Max Papenhausen lost in second singles to Alex McKinley 2-6, 4-6. At third singles, Zach Grimes was defeated by the Diego Cerron Portales 2-6, 4-6.
In second doubles, Gideon Johnson and Jack Wright fell to the the Colts’ Lane Browne and Mitchell Carroll 0-6, 2-6.
