PLAIN CITY — The Clear Fork train is rolling.
Jonathan Alder became the third victim of the football season last Friday night as the Colts ran away with a 49-10 win as its defense stifled the hosts to just 111 total yards.
Trevon Trammell continued his scoring barrage with a 12-yard with 8:51 left in the first quarter. A.J. Blauser’s kick made it 7-0 Colts.
Trammell rushed for 99 yards on 15 carries.
After Alder booted a 42-yard field goal, the Colts unleashed an offensive barrage that put them ahead 28-10 at intermission.
Brennan South hit Homerick with a 34-yard scoring strike, followed by a 3-yard run by Jared Schaefer, who added 78 yards on 11 carries.
The hosts managed an 11-yard TD pass.
The Colts, which host North Union Friday night in the MOAC opener, weren’t finished.
Schaefer added scoring jaunts of 15 and 31 yards in the second half, while South found paydirt from 36 yards out.
For the contest Clear Fork ran for 246 yards and threw for 157 more on 13-of-24 passing.
South hit on 7-of-10 for 99 yards and Schaefer 6-of-12 for 59.
Justin Homerick paced the Colts receivers hauling in 5 catches for 60 yards; Caden Flynn had 4 receptions for 52 and a 28-yard TD.
Trammell and Miller had sacks for the Colts defense that held JA to 25 net yards rushing and 86 through the air on 5-of-18 passing.
Through three games the Colts have rushed for 766 yards and thrown for 481.
Trammell has 368 yards rushing on 36 carries and 6 touchdowns. Schaefer has hit on 17-of-24 passing for 284 yards and 4 TDs.
Leading receiver for Clear Fork is Homerick with 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. Blauser has connected on 18-of-19 point after touchdown kicks.
North Union walloped Fairfield Christian Academy 72-7 Friday night. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at the Colt Corral.
