Luke Watson fired a round of 71 to lead Clear Fork to the team championship at the Tyger Invitational played Aug. 28 at Twin Lakes.
Watson shot 35 on the front nine and finished with a score of 36 on the final nine holes. Devon Shortridge finished at 76 and Dakotah McClain carded a round of 80 for the Colts. Jared Lind finished his round at 85. Jake Helinski shot 90 and Brock Dettmer shot 95.
The Colts shot 312 as a team to win the tournament by 15 strokes over Ontario, which finished at 327. Mohawk placed third with a score of 329. Crestview shot 362 to finish fourth. Madison came in fifth with a score of 364.
Mansfield Christian placed sixth after shooting 371. Mapleton’s round of 408 left them in seventh place. Mansfield Senior placed eighth after shooting 412 and St. Peter’s was last with a round of 452.
Watson won the match medal and paced the Colts to a 172-177 victory over Ashland on Sept. 1 at the Ashland Golf Club. He shot 40.
Shortridge shot 42 and McClain finished at 44. Helinski carded a round of 46. Dettmer shot 50 and Lind finished at 53.
Max Watson led Ashland with a score of 41. Beau Bayerl shot 42 and Johnny Peck fired a 43. Chase Dravenstott finished at 51. Tony Chardon shot 52 and Blake Johnson shot 60.
