Clear Fork tracksters win discus, shot put at Madison track invite

BELLVILLE — Two Clear Fork Valley Schools students took first-place at the Madison Invitational track event over the weekend.

Senior Maya Staton won the discus with a throw of 111 feetm 9 inches and junior Paige Walker took a first in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 6.5 inches.

There were second-place finishes by Lauren Callen, a junior, in the 100 meter hurdles and high jump, and Jacob Bailey, a junior, with a discus throw of 127-1

The boys 2 x 200 relay team finished second with a time of 1:36.17. On the team are Ian McDanel, junior, Dylan Thompson, Bryce Lyon, junior and Jacob Lowe, junior.

The girls 4 x 100 was second with a time of 54.65. The team members are Emily Hart, freshman, Lauren Callen, junior, Maleah Garrabrant, sophomore, and Alyson Wend, junior.

Other top finishers were Bryce Lyon, finishingthird in the 100 meter at 11.67 seconds; Wend in the long jump and Tabi Hamilton in the shot put.

The boys 4 x 100 relay with runners McDanel, Zach Homerick, Lyon and Low finished third.
