Staff report

SHELBY — Clear Fork’s softball team improved to 12-1 Monday night with a 7-4 non-conference win over Shelby.

The Colts were led on offense by Macy Wade, who doubled and knocked in three runs. Darian Gottfried homered and Kaitlin Hilverding chipped in a single, double and an RBI.

The Lady Colts scattered seven base hits, the rest being singles by Haylie Miller, Zara Thomas and Whitney Snavely. Clear Fork also stole six bases vs. the Whippets.

Gottfried picked up another pitching win. She went the distance, allowed nine base hits, walked one and struck out six.

Shelby hit two home runs, but left a lot of runners stranded thanks to another error-less defensive outing by the Colts.

The Lady Whippets hurt their own cause with three errors.
