Richland County sheriff announces year-end award winners


MANSFIELD — Richland County Sheriff Steve Sheldon has announced the 2018 Employee Awards at the sheriff’s office. Those recoginized include: Deputy of the Year Deputy — Charles Hosey; Deputy Supervisor of the Year — Lieutenant James Nicholson; Detective of the Year — Detective Chris Rahall; Corrections Officer of the Year — Joshua Loney; Corrections Sergeant of the Year — Keith Krupa; 911 Operator of the Year — Garrett Prise; Civilian Employee of the Year — Records Clerk Maggie Borland; Mounted Deputy of the — John Davis; Special Deputy of the Year Special — Rob Heyde (Captain within the unit).

Others recognized included the deputies involved in the Shawn Christy Manhunt; deputies involved in Amber Alert capture near Lucas; deputies who arrested man making threats to Juvenile Court, when an AR15 and ammo were found in vehicle nearby.

Also, Certificates of Merit were announced for two incidents; Two Office Citations were handed out as were three Certificates of Appreciation for other incidents. There there five Life-Saving Awards handed out and Save Driving award winners also were recognized.
