Feb. 22, 2019

Bellville — On the listed date and time, Officer dispatched to the listed location for suspicious circumstances. Officer arrived and made contact with the complainant who advised that during the night an unknown subject was on their property, near buildings and vehicles. The Officer took a statement and photographs.

Feb. 23, 2019

St. Rt. 97 — On the listed date and time, Officer observed vehicle leave the parking lot of Loves and travel onto St. Rt. 97 West. As the vehicle passed, Officer noted that the vehicle did not have the required front license plate. Officer caught up to vehicle and attempted to see if the vehicle had a rear license plate, underneath a very dark plate cover, that obscured anything that may be underneath it. Overhead lights were activated, initiating a traffic stop. Officer approached vehicle and made contact with all of the occupants. All provided identifications as the Officer detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed a marijuana cigarette on the vehicle console. All individuals were shaking and appeared to be nervous. The Officer contacted Dispatch for assistance and once back up arrived, all four occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and searched for Officer Safety. A vehicle search was conducted where marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found. Occupants were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and the driver was also cited with obstructed license plate. The occupants and the vehicle were released.

Feb. 26, 2019

Butler — Bellville Officer along with Richland County Sheriffs Officer were dispatched to the listed residence for a disturbance. Dispatch advised individuals were stating that they were going to kill each other. Officer arrived first on scene, approached the door and heard multiple voices yelling as well as subject state, I am going to kill you. Officer pounded on door and announced their presence. Door was opened by subject, Officer entered and made contact with four individuals who stated that there was nothing going on. Officer began gathering information and noted that all appeared to be intoxicated and had a difficult time following instructions. Joint responding law enforcement agency arrived, information on the individuals was gathered and several subjects were handcuffed for Officer Safety. Dispatch confirmed that three of the four people had active warrants. One individual was given a court date and released, two people were transported to jail. Officer cleared scene.

Feb. 27, 2019

I-71 SB Ramp On the listed date and time, Officer observed vehicle traveling on St. Rt. 97 without a front license plate. Vehicle made a turn onto the I-71 ramp, Officer activated overheads and initiated a traffic stop. Officer approached the vehicle, made contact with the driver and advised them the reason for the stop. Dispatch confirmed the driver information, the vehicle coming back with a BMV order of “Officer to confiscate the license plate on behalf of the registrar”. Officer advised the driver of the situation and a tow was called for the vehicle. The driver was cited for driving with one license plate, the tow arrived and a vehicle tow inventory form was completed. The driver was then transported to a local business to await their ride.
